INDIVIDUAL CARDS: Cards are ranked (high) A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2 (low).
HIGH CARD: A poker hand in which no cards have the same rank, the five cards are in different sequence, and the five cards are not all the same suit. It is the lowest ranked poker hand.
Example: K (hearts), J (spades), 5 (spades), 4 (clubs), 2 (diamonds).

ONE PAIR: A poker hand in which two cards are of the same rank with three unmatched cards. It is higher than a high and the second lowest ranked poker hand.
Example: 9(d), 9(h), 3(c), 5(s), 7(s).

TWO PAIR: A poker hand in which there are two cards of one rank and two cards of another rank, and one unmatched card. When more than one hand has two pairs of the rank, the hand with the highest card outside the paired card wins.
Example: 9, 9, 8, 8, 5

THREE OF A KIND: Three cards of the same rank plus two other cards
Example: 9, 9, 9, K, 10

STRAIGHT: Five cards of mixed suit in sequence. When there is more than one straight, the one with the highest card wins.
Example: 7(c), 8(d), 9(c), 10(h), J(s)

FLUSH: Five cards of the same suit. When comparing two flushes, the one with the highest card wins.
Example: k(s), 10(s), 9(s), 6(s), 4(s)

FULL HOUSE: Three cards of one rank together with two cards of another rank. When comparing full houses, the rank of the three cards determines which hand is higher.
Example: 2, 2, 2, 4, 4

FOUR OF A KIND: Four cards of the same rank. Four of a kind is sometimes known as "quads."
Example: 9, 9, 9, 9, 4

STRAIGHT FLUSH: Straight with all five cards of the same suit. The cards cannot "turn the corner"
Example: 6(s), 7(s), 8(s), 9(s), 10(s)

ROYAL FLUSH: This is the highest poker hand. It is a straight flush from 10 to ace.
Example: 10(h), J(h), Q(h), K(h), A(h)
